My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🚀 Meet Rocket

8 weeks old | 3.5 lbs | Male | Playful, Snuggly, Sweet

Rocket is the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and cuddle-loving companion. At just 8 weeks old, he loves to romp around with his siblings and foster dog friends, but he’s just as happy curling up in your lap for snuggles and affection.

Rocket is a typical puppy when it comes to potty training, with consistent accidents as he’s still learning, and he has not shown any destructive behaviors beyond normal puppy curiosity (cords should be kept out of reach). He’s easily redirected with toys and playtime and is happy and relaxed around food, toys, and bones, willingly sharing with others.

He does great with other dogs, plays nicely, and shows good manners. Rocket could do well as an only dog as long as he’s getting plenty of love and attention, but he also enjoys having a playful buddy. He has been around kids and wants to play, be loved, and soak up attention.

Rocket is friendly with guests and happily seeks out love and playtime. He is not using a leash yet due to his age and size, but he’s confident, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever’s happening.

He is currently eating Purina Pro Plan Puppy with his siblings and has no medical concerns noted. (Fun fact: Rocket isn’t a fan of taking flea medicine on its own, but he takes it like a champ when it’s tucked into a pill pocket!)

Rocket is a sweet, loving little guy who will thrive in a home that enjoys puppy antics, playtime, and lots of snuggles. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate puppy to grow up by your side, Rocket is ready to blast off into your heart. 🖤🐾

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
