Alfie Has Arrived in Wisconsin on 1/10/26 and Is Settling in to his foster home. He is no longer in the Arkansas shelter and is beginning the next phase of his journey while he waits for his forever family.

Meet Alfie

Alfie is about 2 years old and weighs approximately 58 pounds. He is a Shepherd/Aussie mix (best guess) — an official mutt. He is a fluffy guy with longer hair and is very handsome. Alfie is neutered and ready for his next chapter.

Alfie is a happy, friendly guy who does well with other dogs and enjoys social interaction. He has not yet been tested with kids or cats, but his overall temperament has been positive and easygoing. Alfie would benefit from a home that can provide structure, regular activity, and continued guidance as he continues adjusting to life outside of the shelter.

As Alfie settles in, we will continue learning more about his personality, manners, and preferences.

From Alfies foster

He’s good with our other dogs. He’s a lover. Was super skinny and after regular meals he’s feeling great and much more energetic. Walks ok on a leash. Is crate trained and close to house trained.

He loves all people but I haven’t had a chance to see him around young children but I’m guessing he’d be fine. He’s ok with our cat, but will chase if the cat runs. He tries to herd the cat.

Age: ~2 years
Gender: Male (Neutered)
Weight: ~58 lbs
Breed: Shepherd / Aussie mix (best guess)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Almost
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Manners: Working on it
