Meet Banshee — a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd with a BIG heart and even bigger love to give! 🐺
Banshee was surrendered due to a divorce — through no fault of her own. This amazing girl deserves a family who will never cast her aside again and will see her for the loyal, joyful companion she truly is.
True to her breed, Banshee has lots of energy and absolutely lives for her adventures! She loves:
🌿 Outside “snifaris”
🚶♀️ Long walks
🧠 Sniff & find enrichment games
Banshee does great with other dogs and especially loves a good game of tug-of-war. She is also 💯 house-potty trained — a big win!
Banshee knows basic commands like sit, paw, and down, but when excitement hits (looking at you, UPS driver with cookies 🍪), all bets are off. She will need a committed adopter willing to invest time in basic obedience training to help her channel that enthusiasm.
And yes… she will jump, hug, and kiss you whether you’re ready or not. Banshee is a powerhouse of love with absolutely no shame — she wants ALL the affection and gives it right back tenfold.

More about this rescue
Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.
PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites.
