My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio: This handsome guy is about 7 years old and has a heart as soft as his eyes. He’s on the shy side at first, but once he feels safe, his true personality shines through—sweet, affectionate, and quietly playful.

He’s very calm and quiet, making him a wonderful companion for a peaceful home, yet he still enjoys playtime and gentle fun. He does beautifully with kids and other dogs, showing patience and kindness in every interaction.

If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will happily curl up nearby, wag his tail when you walk in the room, and slowly become your shadow, this boy could be the perfect match. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention—but deeply appreciates love when it’s given.

He’s ready for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
