My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Choco

Name: Choco

Age: 3 months

Sex: Female

Spayed: No (too young)

Breed: Jindo mix

Color: Brown & White

Weight: 6.6 kg

Height: 38 cm (shoulder)

Rescue Story

Choco was born to a Husky-mix mother who was living as a yard dog in Korea. She has since been safely moved into foster care and is currently receiving her vaccinations while getting ready for adoption

With People

Choco is very affectionate and friendly. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubs against them, and enjoys being petted. While she hasn’t had direct experience with children under 13 yet, she is gentle and comfortable being held, and once she feels close to someone, she loves to show her belly.

She is a people-loving puppy who enjoys staying close to her humans.

With Other Dogs

Choco is social and friendly with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. She especially enjoys dogs around her own size and generally plays well with them. Because she is still completing her vaccinations, she hasn’t had many outdoor dog interactions yet, but her temperament with other dogs has been positive.

With Cats

Not tested yet.

Leash & Walking

Choco has not started walks yet as she is still in the middle of her vaccination schedule.

At Home

• No food guarding with people or other dogs

• May do light demand barking when she wants something (her voice is soft)

• Currently not showing separation anxiety, but she does like to stay close to people and follow them around the house

• Can be left alone for 1–2 hours without issues and greets her people excitedly when they return

• Whines briefly in the crate but settles down and falls asleep

• Uses indoor pee pads for potty

Energy Level

Since she hasn’t started walks yet, Choco has a higher level of activity indoors and enjoys running and playing around the house. Once she begins regular walks and outdoor exercise, this should balance out nicely.

What Makes Choco Special

Choco is a sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented puppy who loves being close to her humans. With proper exercise, training, and companionship, she will grow into a loving and loyal family member

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
