My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chicken 🐾—a little lady with a tender heart and just the right sprinkle of puppy pep.
Chicken is a sweet, loving girl who balances gentle affection with classic puppy energy. She enjoys cozy cuddles and warm naps, but don’t be fooled—she’s always ready for a playful romp, a toy chase, or a happy burst of zoomies. She loves being near her people, following them around to make sure she doesn’t miss any fun (or snuggles).
What makes Chicken special:
• Affectionate and eager to bond
• Playful puppy energy paired with a calm, loving nature
• A natural at both playtime and cuddle time
Chicken is looking for a forever home where she can grow, explore, and share her joyful spirit. If you’re ready for a pup who brings both sweetness and fun into your life, Chicken is ready to meet you. 💛🐶

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
