Meet Dodger, a young, energetic dog with a heart full of love. Despite his shyness, Dodger`s curiosity and sweet nature shine through. He weighs 19 pounds and is a bit jumpy and can be quite needy, craving affection and often seeking a comforting lap to curl up on. He`ll give you kisses for free. His cuddly demeanor makes him the perfect companion for cozy nights in. We don`t know if he is house trained and leash walking seems to be a new experience for him. Dodger is also protective and alert, always ready to look out for himself and his family. Because of his distrust of strangers and slowness to warm up to new people and situations, he`ll need to live with kids at least nine years old. We haven`t seen him interact with dogs yet. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
