Meet Sophia!
She is a 7 year old black Lab mix who weighs about 74 pounds. Sophia is a sensitive soul who is looking for a person that can shows her the gentle love that she`s been waiting for. She is shy with new people, but after a bit of time she warms up and is sweet and snuggly with people that she trusts. Sophia may take some time to get to know you, but she is definitely worth the wait!
She shows potential to live with another dog, but she can be nervous at times, so she would prefer a dog that is just as laid back as she is. Due to her sensitivity, if there are kids in her forever home she would do best with older kids that can respect her space. Sophia has a heart of gold and can`t wait to show her forever family what a wonderful girl she is.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

6 months or under: $175
6 months to 5 years: $125
6 years or older (or special needs): $50
Cats
6 months or under: $75 (or two kittens for $100)
6 months to 5 years: $50

Senior to Senior Program: For adopters age 60 or older, adoption fees are reduced to $15 if the animal is 3 years or older. This service is made possible through the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. You will be asked to provide proof of age.
Veteran Pet Program: Veterans and active military personnel receive 25% off of adoption fees. Valid military ID is required.

We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders.
