Flower is a loving, gentle kitten with a huge heart and a resilient spirit. She came to us with her siblings, but it quickly became clear something was wrong — she was diagnosed with wet (effusive) FIP, a serious viral disease in cats that causes fluid buildup in the belly or chest. Without treatment, it’s almost always fatal.
Thankfully, Flower was rushed into lifesaving antiviral treatment. This 84-day course targets the virus directly and gives cats like her a real chance at recovery, which she went through with flying colors.
Despite everything she’s been through, Flower remains incredibly sweet and affectionate. She’s a pro biscuit-maker, always kneading away while purring contently. She loves being around people and is more than ready for her chance at a happy, healthy life in her forever home.

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
