My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Ommi was brought in by their previous owner on January 3, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ommi! Ommi sees all, knows all, and definitely sets all the rules. He's looking for someone who speaks fluent cat-handling is optional, cuddles are negotiable, and he prefers to set the pace. He's serious about his toys-they are his, and they come with very strict "look but don't touch" rules. Give Ommi enough time, and he'll probably rule your home with an iron paw... but in the cutest, slow-blinking way imaginable. He'll do best with someone patient, calm, and happy to earn his trust slowly. If you respect boundaries and enjoy a cat with personality, Ommi might just let you into his inner circle. Don't forget a secure, hard-sided carrier-Ommi has strict rules for transport and does not negotiate.

Ommi requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

At SDHS:
Ommi has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Ommi is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
