Dan is a handsome 4-year-old kitty with a friendly, mellow, and genuinely sweet personality. He’s the kind of cat who enjoys calm companionship, gentle affection, and returning every bit of love he’s given—with plenty of purrs included.
Through no fault of his own, Dan’s life was turned upside down when another cat was brought into his home and began bullying him. When Dan couldn’t coexist in that situation, his previous owners were going to euthanize him. Thankfully, he was given another chance.
In his foster home, Dan has shown interest in the other cats. He could live with another feline, but would do best with an easygoing companion who’s comfortable letting Dan take the lead. Slow, proper introductions will be essential to set everyone up for success.
Despite everything, Dan remains a truly wonderful boy with just one simple wish: a home where he can finally feel safe again. In return, he will shower his person with affection, gratitude, endless purrs, and quiet companionship.
Adopt Dan and give him what he deserves: safety, stability, and a home where he’s chosen every day. He’ll make sure you know just how grateful he is.
Dan is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
