My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Walter! 🐾💛
Walter is a large 3-year-old male cat with a big presence and an even bigger heart waiting to be discovered. Life hasn’t always been kind to him, so he may take some time to feel comfortable in a new home. But with patience and love, Walter reveals just how sweet and affectionate he truly is.

Walter is looking for a compassionate adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to adjust. A calm home and a gentle approach will help him feel secure and confident. Once he knows he’s safe, Walter becomes a loving, gentle companion who will soak up attention and return it with quiet devotion. 🐱

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
