Toasty is a sweet girl estimated to be about 4 years old and weighing around 20 pounds. She was found wandering alone as a stray, and when she first arrived at the rescue it was clear the world had been a little unkind to her. She was scared, unsure, and dealing with some medical needs, but watching her come out of her shell has been nothing short of incredible!
One of Toasty’s ongoing needs is managing chronic dry eye. She’s on daily eye drops to keep her eyes comfortable and healthy, and they’ve made a huge difference. She still has vision, gets around just fine, and is an absolute champ when it comes to taking her meds. She’ll need to stay on eye drops for life, but Toasty takes it all in stride and doesn’t let it slow her down one bit.
Toasty is also working on her “summer bod” and has been doing great with her diet and routine. She would thrive in a home committed to keeping her healthy with regular walks, gentle activity, and lots of encouragement. She’s not a high-energy dog, but a little movement paired with plenty of lounging is her ideal balance.
Personality-wise, Toasty has completely blossomed. The timid dog who once hung back is now the first to greet you, tail wagging and ready for affection. She lives for human companionship and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. Belly rubs are her love language, and if there’s a lap available, she will find it. Toasty would do best in a calm, loving home where someone is around often, because your company is truly her favorite thing. She’s mellow and happiest curled up next to you or snoozing nearby, though she does enjoy the occasional burst of light play or a short stroll. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who just wants to love and be loved, Toasty might be your perfect match. Please inquire today!

More about this rescue
Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
