My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Ebony is in the process of being adopted!*

Ebony is a gentle, shy cat who takes her time getting comfortable but once she feels safe, her affectionate side truly shines! She’s the kind of companion who bonds deeply, enjoying quiet moments, soft pets and curling up close with someone she trusts.
She is curious and observant, preferring to watch and understand her surroundings before fully joining in. She was calm and interested when seeing other cats and comfortable around a gentle, cat-savvy dog, and may do well with other pets given proper introductions.

Ebony would do best with someone who understands that trust takes time and is happy to let her set the pace. In return, she offers gentle companionship, sweet snuggles and a loyal presence during quiet evenings.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate cat to share peaceful moments with, Ebony could be a wonderful match!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
