My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & HANDSOME GUY:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 34 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Nyles – a wonderful, handsome fellow with lots of love to share!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the Mostly Mutts family!  I hear that once you are a Mostly Mutt, you take the next step to getting a wonderful home of your very own.  I am all on board for that!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, I’ll be tested again in the future, but for now, I should be your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met children yet at Mostly Mutts, but I would do best with kids ages 10 and older who understand not to approach me while I’m eating, as I guard my food.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet and loving boy who may be a little timid at first, but with gentle patience, I warm up and let my friendly side shine.  Even though bath time made me a bit nervous, I tried my best - I walked nicely in and out of the paw spa, tolerated everything well, and was the sweetest boy for my ear cleaning.  All I really need is a little kindness to feel safe and loved. / Energy Level: 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning more. / I do well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, however, there were two bite incidents in the past when I was mistakenly put back in my crate while my food bowl was inside, as I do guard my food.  This issue has since been addressed and resolved, and my trainer will be happy to go over this with you and answer any questions.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with the nice volunteers, following all the interesting smells, snuggling up on the bench, and getting some good butt scratches. / Other than not liking anyone near my food, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I’m a sweet guy looking for a great family and home!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
