Heidi is an absolutely precious little puppy with a gentle, playful spirit and a whole lot of sweetness packed into a tiny body. At just 6 weeks old, she’s still very young, but her loving personality is already shining through. Heidi is friendly with everyone, enjoys playing with her siblings, and has the cutest little way of walking and eating that’s guaranteed to make you smile.
She has a low-key, easygoing energy for a puppy, balancing playtime with lots of sweet lap snuggles. Heidi loves toys, enjoys gentle play, and is happiest when she’s close to people. She’s quiet, goofy, and affectionate — the kind of puppy that will melt right into your arms. Because of her age, she’ll be easy to guide and train as she grows, and she’s still very adaptable to new environments and routines.
Heidi had a very rough start to life. She was left in a basket with her brothers and sisters near a dumpster, without food or water. Thankfully, she was rescued in time and brought into foster care, where she’s now safe, cared for, and thriving. Despite her early hardship, Heidi is a happy, playful little girl who just wants love and security.
Because she is so tiny and young, Heidi will need a patient, attentive home that understands puppy life. Gentle handling is especially important, particularly if there are children in the home. She can do well with or without another dog, as long as she has love, consistency, and proper care.
Heidi is a beautiful, sweet puppy with her whole life ahead of her. With patience, kindness, and guidance, she will grow into a wonderful companion and bring endless joy to her forever family.
Heidi is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 01/24/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
