Meet Cleo ?? — Sweet, Loyal, and Ready for Her Forever Home

Cleo is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who adores people and thrives on being included in daily life. She greets new friends with quiet enthusiasm, often sitting politely for pets or rolling onto her back to show her trust right away. Being near her people (and her dog friends) is where she’s happiest.
She’s a medium-energy dog who enjoys walks and would love longer outings or hikes with her future family. Cleo is house-trained, rides calmly in the car, and has a solid foundation with basic cues like sit and coming when called. At home, she’s content to nap, recharge, and happily work on a chew stick or bone.
Cleo does best with canine companionship and truly benefits from having another dog in the home. She is comfortable being crated next to another crated dog and settles well in that setup. Being left completely alone is still something she’s working on — she isn’t yet comfortable when her people leave the house and is continuing to practice settling and building confidence during those moments.
Like many dogs who are still learning how to self-soothe, Cleo can be destructive if left unattended. She will chew or destroy a variety of items if given the opportunity, so she’ll need thoughtful management, appropriate enrichment, and continued guidance as she learns what’s hers and what isn’t.
She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playful interactions, though she may occasionally pop in to make sure she’s not missing out on any affection.
A little Cleo quirk: squeaky toys make her pause and tilt her head in total confusion — as if she’s trying to figure out why anyone would want a toy that screams at them.
Cleo is looking for a home with another dog, a predictable routine, and people who value companionship just as much as she does — and who are patient as she continues building independence. If you’re searching for a loyal, affectionate pup who simply wants to belong, Cleo could be the perfect match. ??

More about this rescue

Formed in 2013, a small scale dog rescue located in Ontario. We are a non-profit, volunteer-run, foster home based.

None of our dogs are boarded in kennels upon arrival.

We are dedicated in rescuing dogs from the Caribbean, Mexico and North America as well as local surrenders.

We place dogs in loving, responsible and committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process.

Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes.

We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement
