My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bok Choy was brought in by his previous owner on January 11, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Bok Choy! This charming kitty is the definition of a "lazy" companion, preferring the quiet life of an indoor-only lifestyle. He is looking for a calm home where he can settle into a routine of long naps and gentle grooming sessions. He is a social soul who may solicit attention immediately or choose to watch from afar until he feels comfortable. Once he knows you, however, he truly enjoys being snuggled and pet. Bok Choy has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), a condition that can cause inflammation or blockages in the urinary system, typically exacerbated by stress. He is currently doing well on a medicated diet and daily medication! Since he isn't a fan of hustle and bustle, he's looking for a kid free (8+) home where he can be your one and only furry friend! If you are looking for a gentle companion who would thrive on consistency and a routine, Bok Choy is ready to say hello!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
