My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.

I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.

A volunteer writes: This cute little man is Bowie. Found stray, he is estimated to be about 3 years old. Between the sweet dark chocolate eyes, the big listening ears, and the earnestness with which he sits and waits for treats, I find him utterly adorable! Apparently when Bowie arrived at the shelter he showed intake staff his tricks right away. Smart boys know to charm the right people!! While Bowie is SO cute that you might want to scoop him up and carry him in your pocket, he's actually shown that he's not so comfortable with petting and handling. Perhaps he's not physically comfortable or he's worried about the many things he has to worry about, but Bowie will love a home that is able to move at his pace and be willing to provide him the space and time he needs to settle. I have a feeling it will be well worth it to see him blossom.
