My name is Zorro!

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

I love to play and will need appropriate toys and positive outlets for my energy.

A volunteer writes: Zorro cried out to his owner who tied him to a pole and proceeded to walk away. At least that's what his finder recalled when they brought him to the safety of the shelter the next day. It was around 8 pm when they heard what they thought was screaming outside of their window, only to find it was little Zorro pleading with his person to come back. Thankfully, Zorro's finders were able to run out quickly and retrieve him, sparing him from the cold of an early January night.

When we meet him, we find it inconceivable that someone could have ignored his pleas. Zorro is just a BABY and the sweetest one at that. Sure, he has that little ornery streak that any puppy has (a bit mouthy, some inability to settle) but one would expect that considering the stress and the demands of the shelter. After Zorro burns off some steam (he is living 23 hours a day in a small pop up kennel!) he settles in our lap for a few minutes, eventually flopping on the ground for some belly rubs. He often keeps his little crate clean, showing us he's at least partially housebroken, which is no easy feat for a 7 month old pup. Due to Zorro's fearfulness, he is currently available to a home with experience (level 4) He has no dog to dog information at this time.
