Tobias Beans aka Toby Toe Beans is an approx. 2 1/2-year-old, 14 1/2 lb. scruffy male terrier mix whose gentle soul will ease right in to snuggle with your heart. His favorite thing above all is the touch of a human. Toby spends his days exploring the yard and sunning with his foster fur family. Toby will nuzzle and snuggle a stuffie as if it is his comfort source, though he is still reserved or uncertain when it comes to the excitement of fetch or chewing bones. Toby is still learning how to navigate this great big world (it can be scary sometimes) and will need patience and love to help him to continue to grow into his best self. Toby is house and crate trained, but also very much enjoys sharing a pillow above your head at bedtime. He is learning to walk on a leash, and does well as your gentle little sidekick, so with consistency, reassurance and practice, we have no doubt that he will be a companion that’s ready for adventure. He spooks easily though so he needs someone who is cautious with him and ready to reassure this good boy. Car travel is a work in progress too, as there are many scary things outside, but again practice will help him get better. Toby and his old-souled self, truly is the best mix of spunk and chill. Toby does amazing around cats, dogs and kiddos! He especially loves his foster grandma. That said, Toby would do best in a calmer environment with perhaps a dog or cat sibling as an added bonus, though he seems perfectly content being a loner, while still enjoying socialization. Toby and his beautiful eye guy-liner, scruffy snoot, and furry footed boots, will require a bit of occasional grooming, though nothing major. He loves having his feet rubbed and lays calmly for his toe trims and  each bath time is becoming easier. Toby needs a home with a calm energy, patient humans who will let him settle in at his own pace, and give him the space to do so. We are requiring a fenced yard for him. Toby is heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. He can enjoy regular activities.
