My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A little bit about Sadie:

- Kids: unknown - all interactions should be supervised by an adult.
- Cats/Small Animals: limited history with cats or small animals.
- Dogs: Came in with other dogs of similar size and breed but she may bark at other dogs while on leash.

Meet Sadie, a gentle, sweet girl who may be a little shy at first but warms up quickly once she feels safe. When first meeting new people, Sadie can be a bit hesitant to approach, but with just a few minutes she becomes more comfortable and chooses to stay close to her handler for reassurance.

Sadie has a calm, easy-going demeanor and is not particularly interested in toys or rough play. She enjoys quiet companionship and accepts petting and handling well, including wearing a harness. Her relaxed nature makes her a lovely presence for someone who appreciates a more low-key canine companion.

NOTE: Sadie arrived at the shelter with her bonded companion, Jessie, and the two share a strong connection. They look to each other for comfort and confidence, especially in new environments. Because of this bond, Sadie and Jessie are looking for a home where they can be adopted together, allowing them to continue providing emotional support to one another.

With the support of her bonded friend and a loving family, Sadie is sure to make a deeply rewarding companion.

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
