This pet was brought in by their previous owner on November 28, 2025.

Shaggy is a shy little puppy who's still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. With patient guidance and plenty of reassurance, he'll blossom into a trusting and affectionate companion. Once he feels comfortable, Shaggy's sweet personality begins to shine through as he seeks out soft voices and calm company. He'll thrive in a home that can give him time, structure, and positive experiences to help build his confidence. He can be a bit anxious when he is home alone as well, and will need an adopter prepared to help him with this.

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County.
