My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & ADORABLE FELLOW:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 30 lbs.

Hello – I’m Ozzy!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love from the nice volunteers.  Now I’m ready to find a wonderful home of my very own with a family to love and be loved by!  I came in heartworm positive, but I'll be treated for that soon and I hope to be with my new family before treatment starts.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t ready to play with them yet, I also didn’t show any aggression, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, fun, active, and playful boy who’s as sweet as can be. I was precious and gentle for my bath, then happily rolled all around in my sheet afterward.  I’m a total love bug who brings joy wherever I go. / Energy Level: 4-6, sometimes a little higher, though I will need to stay calmer until after I’ve completed my heartworm treatment.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning more. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule so far, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I just love playing with toys and spending time with the nice volunteers.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together. / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I’ve tested heartworm positive lightly, so I’m on premedication and will be retested in early March.  If I’m still hw positive, I’ll be treated for this and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of my treatment with their vet, so local adoption only.  I hope to be with my new family before my treatment starts.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  I have a broken toenail on my left rear foot that is healing though may still be a little sensitive.

I’m a wonderful pup looking for a great new home and family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. More about this rescue

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
