My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello. Hi. Oh-hi again. I'm Pour Over, and yes, you may admire me. I am an all-gray cat, which means I look like a soft rain cloud with opinions. My fur is sleek, my eyes are observant, and my presence instantly improves any room I enter (you're welcome). I am extremely friendly, which means I will greet you, sit near you, sit on you, and tell you-at length-about my day. I enjoy conversations, even if you only say things like "who's a good girl?" or "why are you yelling?" I will answer both. Loudly. Repeatedly. With feeling. I believe all laps are temporary and all hands exist for petting. I follow my people around to make sure they don't get lonely or accidentally close a door without me. I am helpful like that. My name is Pour Over because I am smooth, comforting, and best enjoyed slowly-preferably while you're sitting still and listening to me meow.
Anyway, it was nice meeting you. I love you. Please pet me now.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
