My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zara, a stunning 50-pound Oreo-colored beauty who is looking for a family that can finally give her the quality time she’s been dreaming of.

Zara came from a home with kids as young as 5 years old. The shelter can be a bit strange, making Zara have a bit more of an aloof personality. However, once she is in a quiet setting with her favorite toys, her sweet and affectionate nature makes her an elite-tier cuddler.

Zara has made many canine friends here at the shelter and may do good living with a canine companion. Our adoption counselors are here to offer their expertise on integrating dogs in a new home!

During a routine vet visit, Zara tested positive for Lyme disease. The good news? Zara is currently asymptomatic (showing no signs of illness), so no treatment has been started. We recommend that her new family sits down with their veterinarian to create a monitoring plan or run further diagnostic tests to decide if treatment is needed down the road.

Zara is spayed and has received core vaccinations (bordetella, canine distemper, rabies), flea + tick preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.
