My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet CK (Cardboard Kitty)! 🐾🖤
CK is the cutest little black kitty, about 9 months old, with a heart as big as her story is unforgettable. She was found with cardboard stuck around her neck—earning her the nickname “Cardboard Kitty”—but despite that rough start, CK is an incredibly sweet, loving, gentle girl who just wants to be safe and loved.

This precious kitty has a soft, affectionate personality and a quiet, trusting nature. She enjoys gentle attention, cozy spots, and being near people who make her feel secure. CK is the kind of cat who melts into pets and makes your heart ache in the best way—because all she wants is love and kindness.

CK is ready for her forever home—a place where she will never be hurt, never be scared, and will only know comfort, care, and love for the rest of her life. If you’re looking for a sweet soul to rescue and cherish, CK is waiting for you. 🐱

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
