Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
This helps Animal Care Centers of NYC | Manhattan with pet care costs.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.
I can go home today!
I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.
I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.
Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!
I am a sweet, shy, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!
Ushi was at the front of the kennel upon approach with a neutral body and eyes but then steps back when spoken to and opening the door. He accepts treats offered by hand but then retreats into the den when the assessor reaches close to pet. He continues to accept more treats offered on the scratcher tool and allows petting on the head, cheeks and body with the tool. When reaching into the den by hand and applying gentle upward pressure on his side and chest, lifting him up to the ceiling of the den, he remains calm but tenses up a little bit. After placing him back down, he continues to eat more treats and tolerates more petting and attention. After closing the door at the end of the interaction, he comes out of hiding at the front again to watch the assessor.
