Piper is a beautiful Green and Teal , 8-year-old male B u dgie. He was surrendered to our rescue by a woman who was no longer able to care for him. He spent all of his time in his cage with his female partner, Picasso. However, she has recently showed aggression towards him after years of sharing a cage with him, and they unfortunately had to be separated.
Piper is skittish since his previous owner did not work with him at all, and he remained in his cage full time. Piper’s foster mom is working on getting him more comfortable around hands and people in general. He is very food motivated! With the proper patience, Piper will accept millet from a person’s hand. He is comfortable and happy when people are in the same room, but gets nervous when people start to get too close, or put their hands in his cage.
Piper is quiet for a bird and occasionally likes to chatter to the other foster birds who he shares a room with. He LOVES wood toys and enjoys shredding them! He is also a capable flyer when he needs to, although he does not often. Piper loves a good spray bottle bath, and will happily ruffle his feathers and preen if you give him a spritz!
Piper is currently on a seed and pellet diet, and is largely unwilling to try new foods. Piper is a sweet boy with a lovely personality that shines through with patience and care.
Piper has been disease tested for Chlamydia and PBFD.
