Wasp is a cute female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 6, 2025 after she and her brother (Antman) were found at a mobile home park near Marietta Ohio. Wasp and Antman were tiny frail 3-4 week old babies at that time, and they were both in desperate need of extra TLC. Sadly, Antman passed away on August 7th. A nursing mother cat in our shelter accepted little Wasp initially, and then (thankfully) one of our compassionate HSOV Kennel Techs (Lauryn Hamilton) fostered her for several weeks.
Wasp survived (and thrived) thanks to Lauryn's care. Wasp was returned to our shelter in mid-September 2025 and was placed with a nursing mother cat (Ragatha) who accepted Wasp and she was raised with Ragatha's biological kittens. Wasp was later placed with another young kitten (Chiquita) so that they could provide comfort/security and companionship for each other .. And they are still together today.
This little lovebug has a gray tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, a pale gray nose, and long white whiskers.
Wasp was given first vaccinations on October 18, 2025. She was given booster vaccines on November 6th and November 22nd 2025. Wasp weighed 2.4 lbs on November 22nd.
Wasp was chosen as one of the HSOV kitties to meet 'Santa Paws' when Santa visited our shelter on December 24, 2025. Wasp was absolutely precious when she snuggled up in Santa's arms and meowed her Christmas wish for a purrever home.
These photos were taken on January 31, 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton lovingly carried Wasp and her best friend (Chiquita) into our 'studio' for their photo sessions. Wasp and Chiquita have sweet, playful personalities and dearly love each other.
Wasp will be spayed (tentative in February 2026) and will soon be ready to go home with her new family.
Happy Update: Wasp and Chiquita have approved adoption applications and will be adopted together after they are spayed/neutered.
