My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Rollie Pollie! We are still getting to know him, though we have seen him be very sweet with the humans he's made friends with in care. We have noticed that he isn't a huge fan of other dogs in his (pup)ersonal space so he asks that he get to be the only fur baby in your life, and that he doesn't have to frequent any dog heavy areas! If you'd like to learn more about Rollie Pollie and are ready to spoil him with some yummy food, personal space or yard, and teaching him the way of your loving world, come visit us at the San Diego Campus today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
