Hi! My name is Flicker and here is a little more about me :
My Journey I come from a community cat background and have transitioned beautifully into indoor life. I’ve discovered that being safe, warm, and surrounded by people (and other pets!) is pretty amazing—and I’ve embraced it fully.
My Social Life I’m a social butterfly! I do great with other cats, dogs, and people of all kinds. I genuinely enjoy being around others and thrive in a home where there’s company, activity, and lots of love to go around. I had a 40-lb pit mix dog sibling in my foster home who was absolutely obsessed with me—he loved giving me head-to-toe kisses, and I didn’t mind one bit.
My Personality Affectionate, loving, cuddly, and delightfully goofy. I’m a chill guy who enjoys playtime but is equally happy demanding snuggles. I’m a certified purr machine and make it very clear when I want affection (which is often).
I Enjoy… Wand toys—they’re my favorite! Batting around my mouse toys on my own Head pets and excellent butt scratches Being close to humans and other pets at all times Lounging nearby while you go about your day
I’m Not a Fan Of… Ceiling fans—they scare me, and I’ll hide if they’re on Being picked up in a specific way (scooped under my front legs). If I need to be moved, gentle support works best for me
What Makes Me Special I often walk around with my little tongue sticking out—and yes, it’s as cute as it sounds.
My Perfect Home I’m an easygoing, adaptable guy who can do well in just about any environment. Whether it’s a busy household or a calmer home, as long as there’s love, companionship, and cuddle time, I’ll be happy.
My Special Needs I have a chronic sinus condition that causes some congestion and a stuffy nose, but it doesn’t slow me down or affect my quality of life. I’m active, affectionate, and feeling great.
Additional Health Info I recently had dental surgery and recovered beautifully. I still have some lingering sinus symptoms, but I act like a perfectly healthy, happy cat and don’t let it get me down at all.

More about this rescue
Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
