My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kitty, a sweet black and white lovebug with a name that is both iconic and wonderfully unhelpful in a room full of cats. Yes, Kitty. As in, “Who is that adorable kitty?” “This is Kitty.” Nailed it.

Kitty is gentle and affectionate at heart, but since arriving she has been feeling a bit shy and is still adjusting to all of life’s recent changes. New sounds, new smells, new routines, it is a lot for a sensitive soul. Right now she is the “let me take a minute” type who does best with calm voices, slow movements, and the freedom to approach at her own pace. Give her a little time and she will start to show the sweet side that is already there, soft eyes, quiet curiosity, and the kind of cuddly potential that makes you root for her.

If you have a cozy home and a patient heart, come meet Kitty and be the person who helps her feel safe again. Bonus: you get a wonderful companion and a name that will keep your conversations slightly confusing in the most charming way.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
