My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Vans, a black and white tuxedo with a classic look and a very understandable case of “this place is a lot.” Vans is scared right now and still adjusting to the shelter environment, so new people and new noises can feel overwhelming. A calm presence and a gentle hello go a long way.

Vans is looking for a patient home that will let trust build at a comfortable pace. Think quiet time, slow introductions, and letting Vans choose when to come closer. The goal is not to rush, it is to show Vans that safety and kindness are the new normal. If you have a soft spot for a sensitive tuxedo and the kind of patience that changes a life, come meet Vans.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
