My name is Aaliyah!

Meet Aaliyah - our 6-year-old, 78 pound girl who is 100% love and gentleness. She was brought to Manhattan ACC after her former owner passed away, and is now thriving in foster care with ELO 

This beautiful girl is the definition of a low-maintenance companion! Aaliyah is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping peacefully through the night without a peep. Despite her size and strength, she’s an absolute dream on the leash - she walks on a loose leash with no reactivity to other dogs or any passing stimuli, and makes every stroll feel effortless.

Aaliyah has a heart full of love for everyone she meets! She’s friendly with both people and other dogs, and her sweet, social nature makes her a joy to be around (she won over our apartment doorman in approximately 30 seconds and is now his favorite dog in our building). She already knows “sit” and is eager to learn more commands, especially when cheese is involved (her absolute favorite treat!).

If you’re looking for a mellow, easygoing companion, Aaliyah is your girl. She’s a champion snoozer who loves to lounge the day away, making her perfect for apartment living or anyone who appreciates a calm presence. She’ll happily settle wherever you are, content to just be by your side. When she’s awake, you’ll find her playing with her beloved stuffy toys or rolling over for belly rubs and ear scratches - her favorite things in the world! Aaliyah is also wonderfully patient and comfortable with all kinds of handling (e.g. having her paws wiped after walks). We’re currently working on building her confidence when left alone, and she’s already making great progress!
