My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Moxie, a bright-eyed tabby with a perfectly penciled face, cozy stripes, and the kind of thoughtful expression that makes you want to whisper, “You are safe here.” Moxie has classic main-character energy, equal parts curious and cautious, with a quiet charm that grows the longer you hang out.

Right now, Moxie may be a bit shy at first, the “let me observe you for a minute” type who prefers a calm hello over a big entrance. Give it a little time, some gentle voices, and a slow-blink moment, and you will start to see the confidence peek through. The noodle toy, a treat, or a cozy blanket can help break the ice, and once Moxie decides you are a friend, the connection is the sweetest kind: earned.

If you have a soft spot for a sensitive kitty with big feelings and even bigger potential, come meet Moxie and be the reason “shy at first” turns into “attached for life.”

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
