Well hello! Fancy meeting you here. My name is Barry and I am a hefty and handsome 4-year-old boy in search of a forever home. You see, I was a well loved member of the family for my whole life until my parents unexpectedly and unfortunately had to leave the country. They cared a lot about me and just want to make sure that my next family loves me as much as they do.
I do great with other cats or would be totally happy to soak up all the love and affection one on one. I have lived with kids before and done great! I am a total ham and will hop onto your lap and lean into whatever scritches you want to give me. I have never skipped a meal in my life and would definitely appreciate if someone would help me stick to my diet. I've gained a couple of covid pounds (yes I know that was 5 years ago) and to be my healthiest self it would do me good to shed those.
Overall if you want a low key boy who just wants to cuddle and be your soulmate, please come to meet me. I miss my family a lot, but I know that I can find love again <3
Barry is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please submit an application here: https://airtable.com/apph147Ocb1OqwMU3/shrASIF0R2OtkjxWD

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
