My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nubbs! 🐾💖

Nubbs is a 4-year-old sweetheart with a story as special as she is. Born with a congenital deformity that left her without back feet, this amazing girl has never let it slow her down for a second. She runs, plays, and zooms around with confidence — her adorable little nubby legs don’t stop her at all!

Nubbs is active, energetic, and full of personality. She loves toys, enjoys exploring, and happily keeps herself (and everyone around her) entertained with her playful spirit. Watching her move is honestly inspiring — she has completely adapted to the world in her own way and lives life to the fullest every single day.

She’s looking for a loving home that will appreciate how unique and resilient she is and provide a safe space where she can continue to play and thrive. Nubbs doesn’t need pity — just love, understanding, and a family excited to celebrate her for the happy, fun companion she is.

Nubbs is ready for her forever home — a place where her incredible spirit, determination, and joyful energy will be cherished forever. 🐾

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
