My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Freya! 🐾💖
Freya is a beautiful 8-year-old calico with a gentle and loving personality. This sweet girl is calm, affectionate, and enjoys quiet companionship, making her the perfect senior cat for someone looking for a loyal, low-maintenance friend. Freya is a very nice girl who loves being loved and is ready to spend her golden years in a cozy, caring home.

Freya is also eligible for Silver Paws VIP, giving her access to special benefits to keep her happy and healthy. She’s looking for a forever family who will cherish her, give her the comfort she deserves, and celebrate her sweet, calm nature every day.

Freya is ready to find her forever home — a loving place where she can relax, feel safe, and be adored for the wonderful girl she is. 🐾

Additional adoption info

You can view our available animals online or by visiting the shelter during regular business hours. Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff are here to guide you through the adoption process, which includes completing an application and having a conversation to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared to welcome a new pet into your home.

If you find an animal on our website that you’re interested in, we kindly ask that you visit the shelter to meet them in person before submitting your application. This helps ensure the best possible match for both you and the animal.

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
