My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT. YOU MUST LIVE IN BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES**

Meet Krypto: A Soft-Hearted Companion Ready to Bond

Newly rescued and beginning a fresh chapter, Krypto is a 2-year-old Bichon–Poodle mix weighing 14 pounds of pure affection. He is the kind of dog who gently wraps his front legs around your arm while you hold him, not out of neediness but out of connection. He leans in. He chooses closeness. And when he kisses you, he means it.

Krypto is wonderful with small dogs, cats, and respectful children over 8 years old. He has an easygoing nature, yet he forms deep attachments to his people. He enjoys being near you, a soft “Velcro” presence, while still honoring your space. He would truly flourish in a home where someone is home often, allowing him to settle in at a comfortable pace and feel secure in his new routine.

As with any newly rescued dog, Krypto will need time to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings. Even confident, loving dogs can feel uncertain in a new environment. Patience, consistency, and gentle leadership will allow his true personality to unfold beautifully. Dog-experienced adopters who understand decompression periods and structured bonding will see how special he truly is.

Krypto is healthy and ready for his forever home. His lower body is currently shaved due to previous coat neglect, but his soft curls will grow back with regular monthly grooming, which is essential for his hypoallergenic coat. Though his grooming was overlooked, he was loved, and now he’s ready for a home that combines affection with attentive care. He would happily be your travel companion, your errand buddy, your couch snuggler, and your loyal shadow. If you have the time, patience, and heart to invest in a dog who gives back tenfold, Krypto is waiting to wrap his paws around you. This dog's adoption fee is $600 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested, please fill out the adoption application. For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page

*All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so.) They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble; our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. .*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting, including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, and ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family, and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises.

More about this rescue

Based out of Broward County and serving the Tri-County area, Get-A-Life Pet Rescue volunteers retrieve pets who have been abandoned and provide them with a chance at the life they deserve. Our animals come from a variety of sources, including Animal Services, owner surrenders and as strays.

Get-A- Life Pet Rescue volunteers, including our Board Members, play an active role in finding the animals a safe and happy home. All our pets are given a full veterinary exam. They are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, put on heartworm/flea & tick prevention medication as well as dental & grooming services as needed. Donations are very critical as they assist us in giving each pet full medical treatment, physical and behavioral rehabilitation and the necessities that allow them to thrive in their "forever home". Because Get-A-Life Pet Rescue doesn’t have a facility to house the pets as they are rescued, each pet is matched with an appropriate foster home in the Tri-County area. With individual fostering, we are able to provide interested applicants with details on the pet's personality and provide a needs list to allow the pet a tranquil transition.

Our volunteers promote responsible adoptions and lifelong relationships with the adopter’s new pet. We educate all adopters and provide them with all tools necessary to have a balanced and happy lifelong pet. Our ultimate goal at Get-A-Life Pet Rescue is to increase humane awareness through education, resulting in the humane treatment of animals, and reduction of the over population and abuse problems of today.
