My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a cat who strikes that perfect balance between affectionate and independent? Gigi truly offers the best of both worlds! Just under two years old, Gigi is an absolute beauty with her soft grey coat and expressive eyes. She may be a little shy when settling into a new environment, which is perfectly normal, but once she feels safe, her sweet and gentle personality really shines. When Gigi is in the mood for cuddles, she’ll happily stay close by, often right at your feet. When she needs a bit of quiet time, she won’t go far - just to her favourite cozy spot where she can relax and recharge. While she may not immediately seek out your lap, she’s comfortable being picked up and handled, and she genuinely enjoys affection. Gigi is a playful girl and loves wand toys and batting around little balls. When playtime is over, you’ll often find her curled up in her favourite comfy bed for a well-earned nap. Gigi isn’t fussy with her meals - she’s quite happy with Fancy Feast in gravy, though she does have refined taste when it comes to treats. Churu is her clear favourite, and she’ll choose it over Temptations every time. Gigi is comfortable sharing space with other cats, although she tends to keep to herself rather than engaging in play and seems to prefer male cats over females. She does well with children, but her experience with dogs is unknown. She would also be content as a single cat in a home where someone is around often, to keep her company.

Gigi came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own when her previous family was no longer able to provide the care she deserved.

Gigi is finally ready for her forever home at last, where she’ll be loved, given the affection she craves, and respected when she needs her quiet moments. In return, Gigi will offer steady companionship and plenty of gentle cuddles.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
