Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
This helps Animal Care Centers of NYC | Manhattan with pet care costs.
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I have lived with cats in my previous home.
I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.
I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
Marty was curled up at the back of the den with his head and ears forward, focused on the assessor with a neutral body and eyes. When offering treats by hand, he steps back and tenses up. When reaching close to pet, he squints his eyes and lowers his head. When touched, he slightly flinches, tilts his ears to the side, and then turns his body around to face the back corner. He remains calm and tense when stroking his body and applying gentle upward pressure on his side and chest, lifting him up to the ceiling of the den. After placing him back down, he turns his head forward, and then he squints his eyes, slightly flinches, and tilts his ears when pet on the head and cheek again.
