Cashew was trapped in a large apartment complex, running with her brother. He turned out to prefer to live the wildlife but Cashew quickly shared her sweet nature. She is nervous with new situations and may even great you with a little hiss but talk sweet to her, move slow and begin petting her and she melts. She makes biscuits, leans in for a good ear scritch and gives you the butt lift for a good back scratch. She would do best in a quiet home with someone who will start her in a smaller space like a bathroom where there is no place to hide. Once she is used to you in this new place, you can give her more freedom in the rest of the home but expect that she will hide at first. But boy...her sweetness makes up for the shyness and in time, she will be ready to approach for pets and snuggles. She has enjoyed sitting in her foster mom's lap, soaking up the attention despite being nervous about being picked up at first. Just in her short time with us, she has shown us glimpes of how wonderful she will become and her personality will match her beauty.
Be the first to meet Cashew by completing the adoption application and a meet and greet can be scheduled. She will also be attending our adoption event on Saturday, 12-4pm, at PetSmart, Bleachery Bvld. Get $50 off the combined adoption fee for a pair of kittens (under 1 yr of age). All cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
