Comoros turned up as a stray before the snow storm, and the family that took him in reached out to ask us to take him. He was not microchipped or neutered, and we were unable to find the owners of this very friendly boy. But his neck, chest and belly were very matted too, so he perhaps had been lost for some time. He had to have that cleaned up, so it will be a bit before it grows back in. Regardless of what he went through, he is very loving with people; he doesn't seem too concerned about other cats, but we do not know his experience with dogs. Regardless of what home he goes to, just like with all animals, slow introductions should be practiced. (Jackson Galaxy has excellent recommendations.). He seems fairly calm and may be a good option if you are looking for an only pet too. He leans into your pets and loves his head and neck scratched. Comoros will flop over onto his side and make air biscuits while he enjoys your pets of his soft furr that will need brushing to be maintained so he doesn't get painful mats in his beautiful coat again.
Meet Comoros by completing the adoption application or by visiting him during our weekly adoption event on Saturday, 12-4pm, at PetSmart, Bleachery Bvd. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventatives.
All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
