My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cat-illac 🚙

Luxury model. Low mileage. Only 7 months old and already fully loaded with sweetness.

Cat-illac is a gorgeous gray-and-white baby who runs on premium fuel: affection. This girl does not just like being loved on — she thrives on it. Pets? Yes please. Chin scratches? Absolutely. Cuddles? Don’t even get her started.

At just seven months old, she’s still got that playful kitten sparkle, but her personality is pure comfort. She’s the kind of cat who leans into your hand, rolls over for more, and looks at you like you personally invented happiness.

Cat-illac would do beautifully in a home where she can soak up attention and return it tenfold. She’s not high-maintenance — she just believes in full-service love. And honestly? She delivers it right back.

If you’re ready to upgrade your life with a smooth ride and a whole lot of heart, Cat-illac is waiting in the showroom. 💕An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.

We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.

By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.

The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
