My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bud

11 week, male, 6 lbs

Pug mix

Bud is a sweet little pup that has the best little wrinkly face and sweet demeanor. He gets along with other dogs big and small in his foster home.

LIKES: Chew toys, treats, snuggles in soft blankets.

DISLIKES: None so far - he's even cooperative for baths!

POTTY TRAINING: Bud is working on going potty outside, but he also reliably hits the potty pad for his poops in the night.

CRATE TRAINED: Bud will put himself to sleep in an open crate, and sleeps happily in a crate at night. He would be fine to be crated for a bit during the day.

OTHER/MISC: His mom is likely 1/2 pug, but we don't know what the rest of his breed mix contains. Bud's adoption fee includes his neuter, and adopters must be able to bring him to the clinic in Springfield for an early morning drop off when it is scheduled. He also has not yet completed his vaccination series, and will need a fenced yard or potty plan until he is fully vaccinated.

To further inquire about BUD, [submit an application](https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application).

Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how BUD will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.

Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.

We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for BUD as well as his future family.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with an online application, submitted via our website. We do not guarantee a response, but will reach out if we think that it's a good fit and then arrange for a meet and greet. We do not hold dogs for more than 48 hours for a meet and greet, and if the dog is scheduled to go to an adoption event it will not be held back. We do not transport dogs out of area. We do same-day adoptions at our meet and greet appointments and adoption events. We offer a one-week trial period to our adopters to make sure that things work out, and we encourage adopters to be familiar with the 3-3-3 rule for dogs. We also highly encourage puppy classes for our puppies, as training is very important in ensuring that dogs stay in their forever homes.
