Story
The Peoria pups are here to play! These happy-go-lucky, friendly puppies were born to mama Peoria, a medium sized girl with a slender body type, ears that stick straight up and a sweet nature. We aren't quite sure her breed mix or what breeds are in her puppies. They are likely a mix of many breeds including Terrier, Basenji, Chihuahua, and Shepherd. We think these little ones are on track to be medium sized like their mama. The Peoria puppies are currently having lots of fun together in their foster home where they enjoy playing with toys and chasing after the resident adult dogs in their foster mom's backyard. Stark is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. We require all puppy adopters to provide training that includes: house training, basic training, leash training, and socialization. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. We do not allow our dogs or puppies to sleep or live outside; they must be incorporated into your family and be made a priority in your life. In return, you will have the most loving and loyal family member you could ask for. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting a Peoria pup, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Peoria is a lovely medium sized girl with thin legs, a lean build and ears that stick up. Your guess is as good as ours as to her breed mix but she likely has several breeds mixed within her including possibly Terrier and Basenji. She is a young girl at about 2 years old but was a great mama to her five adorable puppies. She is friendly, sweet, and easy on leash. Story
Jackie came in originally because she had been ran over by a car and needed a safe place to heal for a few months while her leg and hip were mending. When a dog comes in in her condition they go on bed rest where they can just focus on catching up on sleep, a soft bed, and plenty of food. Within a month we noticed she was starting to get a little on the heavier side so we put her on a diet. But we quickly realize that she was getting larger and it was nothing to do with how much food she was eating. She was pregnant! The accident must have happened shortly after she conceived. But in these situations because of all the trauma and surgeries that she had been through the puppies with more than likely be still born. But she was so far along already there was nothing we can do but watch and wait. In the middle of the night she gave birth to six perfectly healthy babies! She weaned them at only one month and decided she was done dealing with them a few weeks later. She was not cut out to be a mom but rather wanted to live her life freely and with no responsibilities. So we put her in a group of other like-minded dogs and she flourished! She loves playing and investigating everything! She is very intelligent and absolutely adores snuggles!

Story
Meet Penny! She originally transferred to us a young pup from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility in 2018. Adopted in 2018, Penny returned to us in July of this year. She was originally listed as a Labrador/Boxer mix pup, but seeing her full adult size and markings, we now have her listed as a Basenji mix. Penny's previous home was not experienced with her anxiety which compounded over the years and became fear-based reactivity. We recommend reviewing her origin & progress stories below: Penny's Return: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02whoN43cDPKKKExEqBHq8kNDkwHXBJbQxJfXndK3EhSgGXJ5puaaSwnpfwezrsCRFl Penny's Progress: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02QEToHtcCTP6NbKebvtiZs3yPU3yPAyDeFVDvthiYo8fxSMV9SxP4qRALxSXyDm94l Penny's most recent update: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02F4tFELzbyTDVdd4mjFi6VAHEek4hCMMTZpzY5B3p7oNsMDboHESyawFPyWrQN63Ul Behavioral considerations: With dedication to her training with CRT K9 Dog Training in a foster home setting and being surrounded by those experienced with the nuances of dog behavior, Penny is thriving and enjoys her foster home filled with 4 dogs, another foster dog (Tank), and 3 cats. While there are multiple management techniques in place that help her peacefully co-exist in a multi-animal home, Penny will do best in a home that has either: -No pets -An owner with extensive experience with safely managing a multi-dog (any size) or multi-animal household -An owner experienced with reactive dogs Penny develops a heavy attachment to those she loves. She adores her foster mom and with love, patience, and a structured setting, she will also look at her future mom/dad as though you are her sun, her moon, and all her stars. A loyal gal indeed! We want her to succeed in this second chance at adoption and are looking for an adopter that is not just excited about her adorable face and kissable cheeks but has the experience and means to care for a dog that isn't looking for the mental overstimulation that dog parks provide. Penny prefers to get her exercise with her people and dogs she has built trust with, and who are respectful of her boundaries. We as humans can definitely empathize with that! While Penny does enjoy cuddle time, down time, and lots of kisses, she is quite the track star and loves to sprint, explore, and fetch during play time! A home what will keep her active in a safe & controlled environment is where she will thrive! We will send 3 training sessions with CRT K9 Dog Training to her future home, to give Penny her best foot forward in a new environment. A trainer coming directly to an adopter's home for these sessions will ensure that she thrives and is helped along through another life change. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Story
Arya is an 8 year old Basenji/Jack Russel mix who loves cuddles and attention. She would do best in a home with no other pets (cats or dogs) and no small children and with someone who either works from home or is home alot! She struggles with separation anxiety which leads to accidents, chewing things and being angry. My husband and I try our best to give her all of the love and attention that she deserves and loves so much but now that we have a 2 year old toddler and we both work full time job outside of the home, we are not able to give her what she really needs. Someone who is versed in dog training could be very beneficial. She is up to date on all shots and spayed. She would be the perfect fit for.a family that is home often and able to giver her the correct training, love and attention that she desires!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zorro is such a sweet boy!! Unfortunately his owner had to surrender him to TLC K9 Rescue because he got very sick and just couldn't take care of him anymore. Zorro is a sweet pure breed 1 ½ yr old Basenji who is super playful, loving, affectionate, and gives lots of kisses too. But as most Basenji's he can be high-spirited, curious, charming and loves to clown around. At times he can also be aloof, independent and self-contained by relaxing with a yummy bully stick. He typically doesn't like being left alone for long periods of time, so if you work at home he'll be right at your feet or laying in his kennel. Zorro adores people, older considerate children and likes to play with other friendly dogs. He is crate, potty and leash trained. He's a smart boy who has learned several commands immediately. He loves his walks, but he must be kept on leash at all times!!! We are looking for an active and experienced family with the breed and if you have another young dog for Zorro to play with then that would definitely be a plus. If you live in the San Diego County have a home with a yard and a 6-foot fence and would like to adopt Zorro please complete our adoption application at tlck9rescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 3, 2024, 5:02 pm

Meet Damfour!DOB: December 2019Weight: 33 lbsDisposition: Affectionate, Silly, ShyHistory: Rescued from the streets of Thailand by Soi Dog Foundation and brought to TBL to find his forever homeMeet Damfour, affectionately known as Dino by his foster family, a sweet and timid pup who's undergone a remarkable transformation. At first, he resembled a scared dinosaur, but after just a week with his fosters, his silly, sweet, and sassy personality emerged. Now, he loves cuddling up close to his foster mom and their rescue pup Koda, showering them with kisses and affection. He enjoys walks as the caboose, nibbling on meat treats (and recently discovering a love for greenies), and chewing on his stuffed animals. While still spooked by loud noises, Dino's confidence is growing by leaps and bounds. He's house-trained, adorable, and a great fly catcher! At 33 pounds, Damfour is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures. Although he may need some time to warm up to new people, his endearing personality makes him a wonderful companion for the right family. With a bit of patience and socialization, Damfour is sure to thrive in a loving home ready to embrace his quirks and shower him with love.
