Story
Toast, who is male Basenji mix, has been patiently waiting for his forever family while so many other dogs have come and gone. Every day he wakes up hopeful that today might be the day someone chooses him. Unfortunately, that day hasn’t come yet. The truth is, Toast is an incredible dog. Toast is approx two years old, fully vetted, which means he has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, and is current on all preventatives. He weighs about 45 pounds. Extremely well mannered and knows several commands. He is also housebroken and crate trained, making him ready to transition into a loving home. Toast gets along well with other dogs and children, but because of his enthusiasm and energy, he would do best in a home where family members are steady and firm on their feet. He is an active young dog who needs daily walks, exercise, and a securely fenced yard where he can run and play. And when we say run, we mean RUN! 🏃‍♂️💨 Toast is quite literally one of the fastest dogs we have ever seen. Watching him stretch his legs across the yard is truly something to behold. He absolutely loves car rides, adventures, and spending time with his foster brothers and sisters. Because he enjoys canine companionship so much, a home with another friendly dog would be ideal for him. Despite all of these wonderful qualities, Toast continues to wait. He doesn’t know that his adoption fee has been lowered. He doesn’t know that we’re sharing his story again in hopes that the right person or family will see it. He only knows that every day he has so much love to give and no family of his own to give it to. Please help us change that. Share this post, tag your friends, and help us find the family that has been missing out on this amazing boy. We know they’re out there somewhere. ❤️ Toast deserves a home, a family, and a lifetime of love. If you would like to meet Toast or learn more about adopting him, please send us a text at Sunshine Acres Animal Sanctuary, Inc. directly to 469-952-1192.

Story
Truly was adopted by our family in 2017 and has been an amazing addition! She is funny, smart, cozy & just an overall cool girl. We have faced a series of unfortunate circumstances from family dynamic, medical issues, financial difficulties and residential challenges that have affected the way we have been able to show up for Truly and in her later years, she deserves so much more. Looking for a family or individual to provide love and cuddles and sneak over yummy watermelon snacks to our sweet girl.

Story
Oogie is a lot of things - all good we might add - and definitely a conversation starter. With his boxy face and pointy ears he is not easily identifiable as a specific breed, and everybody he encounters asks, "What exactly is he?" We can only guess as far as breed, but what he is definitely is a sweet lovable, easy-going and great all around guy. So whether you are in need of a walking/jogging partner, somebody to cuddle with, or somebody who will help you make new friends, Oogie is your man! Come meet him! He is definitely worth it! Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive.
