Scooby is a 9-month-old, 38-lb Basenji-small Shepherd mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and affectionate companionship. With a moderate energy level (around a 3 indoors and up to a 7 when it’s time to play), Scooby loves to be active but also knows how to settle in for cuddles and quiet time with his people. This handsome boy is incredibly devoted and forms strong bonds with the people he loves. He’s happiest close to his person, whether that means soaking up belly rubs, nudging you with his nose for attention, or curling up beside you for snuggles. Scooby is affectionate, loyal, and naturally watchful over his family in the sweetest way. Scooby already knows basic commands including sit, down, and wait, and he enjoys learning new things, making him a great candidate for continued training. He’s smart, eager to please, and very responsive. Outdoors, his athletic side shines—he’s fast, agile, and loves to play fetch, chase toys, and stretch out in the sunshine. He especially enjoys playing with larger dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion with a similar play style. One of Scooby’s especially nice qualities is his calm nature during storms, something many families appreciate. While he enjoys activity and playtime, he also values comfort, affection, and simply being near his people. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.General Info - PLEASE READ!
