Story
We are looking to rehome an is between 7- 8 years old. She was with a family who neglected her and kept her in a detached garage only to be let out to use the bathroom. Our hopes was to keep her, however, our young Mastiff is too hyper for her and there have been a few situations where it's gotten dangerous for Luna. We are trying to prevent an accident between them two by keeping them seperated but its not working out.  Luna is so sweet and listens very well. She has anxiety and is now on mediciation. It seems to be helping but will need to take it everyday for the rest of her life. She gets along with kids and other dogs that match her laid back temperment.  She is not good with crates but we think it's due to her being in a cage for years. That being said she will thrive in a home where there is a fenced yard and with someone who works from home due to her separation anxiety.

Story
**Rehoming!** Chantilly, VA Hey everyone! We are looking to rehome Luna, a 7 year old 35 lbs mixed-breed dog who spent years alone in a detached garage before we rescued. Since joining our family, Luna has received all her vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm, got microchipped, and is up-to-date on deworming. Although Luna is a sweetheart, she struggles with anxiety and dislikes crates. Therefore, we're searching for a new home where someone works from home to spoil her and give her the attention she craves. She's a quick learner, knows commands, and is fully potty trained. Luna loves children and would thrive in a home as the only pet or in a household with pets of similar laid back temperament. I am not sure how she will react with cats. A fenced yard is a must for her outdoor adventures lol. She loves sunbathing. We are unable to keep her due to our Mastiff's temperament. We don't want Luna to get hurt.

Story
Introducing Lano, our one-year-old Basenji Mix! Lano's journey began in Indonesia, where he faced challenging circumstances, but he's now thriving in his quest to become a cherished family member. House-trained and on the path to crate comfort, Lano is proving to be a resilient and determined pup. Basenjis are known as the "cats of the dog world", and Lano embodies several of the qualities his breed is known for. He is very smart and has an independent spirit, with a hint of aloofness and a touch of stubbornness for good measure. But beneath his independent facade lies a heart of gold—fiercely loyal and deeply bonded to his human companion. At just one year old, Lano is brimming with puppy energy, eager to embark on adventures with his active humans by his side. While he excels on familiar leash walks, new experiences in the big wide world may startle him, requiring patience and continued positive reinforcement training. Lano has proven to be a gentle soul around kids and larger dogs, but he's seeking a kitty-free home where he can thrive. Basenji experience is not required but would be a bonus. If you're ready to welcome Lano into your home, apply to adopt him today at greendogsunleashed.org/adopt. At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application, if you are interested in any of our animals. Application at www.greendogsunleashed.org If you send an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. No, we cannot tell you if he would be a match for your family without seeing an application. PLEASE KEEP READING for info. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for the next 48 hours, for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/* We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time. For more information about our mission and for an APPLICATION for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com. GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##1997869##

Atlas is a wonderful, loving dog that needs to be in a home without any other pets. He is not good with cats. He is a great companion, happy to sleep at your feet while you're working, happy to let you sleep in, if he gets to sleep in his bed on the floor next to you. He's been through a month of formal in-person training and is REALLY smart, he picks up commands almost immediately. He is beautiful to look at while he is running through his routines, you will be a proud parent! Great with kids, amazing hiking partner, loves to hug and cuddle, very loving.
